Why HONEYBEE?
I got my username from my parents. They named me Melissa, which means "honeybee"
in Greek. (No, my nationality is not Greek...it's Scottish/Irish/Scandanavian.) Bees
appeal to me in many ways: they are productive, organized, intelligent creatures
who live in strong communities and make sweet nectar. The female of the species
is naturally dominant (hmmmmm...), and the queen is the only honeybee allowed
to consume royal jelly throughout her lifetime. On my chest, there is a
tattoo of
a honeybee, which carries my third eye on its back.
This is Penetrali
Penetrali is my nick on irc, specifically on #amnin on efnet. On special occasions,
Velveeta makes an appearance instead.
Why PENETRALI?
The nick comes from the word "penetralia" which means "the innermost recesses of a person,
place or thing." This word was given to me printed on a card by a strange child in Central Park
for no discernable reason and I've had it on my mind ever since. And it's about as on-topic as I ever
get, due to the "penetrate" lyric...
